    New Transom needed

I have a 2005 boat with only 257 hours on it. I bought it when it had 196 hours. A Sunsation 288 Mid Cabin Open Bow powered with a Mercrusier 496 mag. It spend the first half of it's life on a rack at a marina. Then 2nd owner used it at the finger lakes in upstate NY. I've had it since...

Engine will not fire after sitting over night 5.0 Volvo 2004

I had a similar issue with a Baja w/454. It was the fuel pump. It would loose prime and it was weak so it would not supply enough fuel to the carbonator to get it going at beginning of the boating day. Then it would run all day without a hitch. Before I figured it out I was priming the...

    Stalling

I'd start with a tune up. Two plugs not firing on time can cause a stall.

    285XLC RADAR ARCH

It never came up before but I always thought your arch was original equipment on your boat. Nice addition. Looks great.

looking to buy 2005 - 2008 Chaparral 256 SSI or similar

I suspect that would be well out of their price range. While they have not told me their upper limit I believe it is somewhere less than 50k. And with gas prices towing that far would add a few thousand to the price. Thanks though.

How often do you give your girl a waxing?😜

I said it lasted the 4 days I was in the water. I put in for weekends ... usually 3 or 4 days at a time. I didn't know you leave yours in all season. That is not an option for me. I like taking it out after each weekend use. No rack. Wife and I get er done. I back the trailer down...

How often do you give your girl a waxing?😜

Here is the stuff I used this year. It was easy to apply and works good and makes bottom easy to clean. Spray on, wipe off. Easiest I've found. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X04JRMU/

How often do you give your girl a waxing?😜

Always at least once a year. Try for twice a year. But this year we are targeting doing the bottom once a month. The bottom cleans up so much easier after waxing. And we found a was that sprays on and wipes off so easy and stays on after 4 days in the dirty river water. Very impressed...

    Vessel View Mobile mercury

I had a Manitou Pontoon with a 350 Suzuki outboard. It had the smart features built right into the dash. Very nice. But fuel flow was a tough one for me to watch. I know boats do not get good mpg ...1.5 maybe ...but cruising at 45 it would show 18 gallown an hour or something close. Heck...

Sounds like a nice set up. While taking pics please take a couple of the way you mounted the phone(s) at the helm. Good idea. I'm also considering using an old iPad for a bigger screen if it is able to run the app. To often older iOS will not run newer apps.
