Vent Port Cover Replacement - 256SSX

Hi Guys-

New to Chaparral and the forum. Bought a used 256ssx knowing the vent covers were loose.
Looks like the tab or attachment mechanism is shot. Could not find much any information on how these assemble.
See pic showing a glued L/hook type bracket with a threaded connection in it ? Does someting screw in from inside engine bay to attach ?
Cover itself is fine, hoping to just remedy reattachement.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. I countersunk pilot holes into the cover and screwed the cover onto the side of the boat.

I have the 276SSX and one of mine has a slight crack in it that I've been thinking about replacing. I'm guessing it's attached from underneath but haven't looked. I'll check next weekend and see if I can see how it's mounted.
