Sunesta 243 stereo help needed

Trying to replace the original head unit and cant get the new receiver to power on. The original CD player powered on fine but, once we cut the old harness out and tried rewiring we cannot get it to turn on. Checked all fuses and they are fine.

Voltage meter confirmed we’re getting 12V but no luck getting it on.

Any suggestions on how to get this done?

What brand is the new head unit? What other connection have you made other than power? Maybe by looking at the wiring diagram we can help. you.
 
I replaced ours ~two years ago with the same brand (updated model) and it was plug-n-play. Did not need to rewire, etc. Agree with Iggy, if you can share the diagram that might help.
