Knee replacement surgery

My knees are shot. Getting the 1st one done tomorrow. Not looking forward to it but it is necessary. The pain I have with it now can't be much worse than the pain from the surgery I hope.

Getting old really sucks as everything is slowly falling apart. My boat is running better than me. Maybe 10 years ago, I had some knee surgery but it was a nodule growing within the knee, not the knee itself. The problem was if he trimmed it from the ligament, it would eventually grow back again. Or, take the whole ligament out including the nodule and its gone. If I took out the whole ligament, I can't use my leg anymore. Or, come back and have it trimmed once in awhile. I chose the second. Getting old sucks big time!

Good luck with the surgery. Use the pain killer correctly with Extra-Strength Tylenol as back up!

Feeling surprisingly good. Been snoozing. Ate a bit of lunch then worked with occupational therapy. Walked the length of the hall. No major pain. Pain blocker still working i guess.
So far so good. Be here overnight. Meet with PT tomorrow then should he released.

I’ve been warned tomorrow the pain will kick in. 2nd day is the worst. Then slowly it gets a bit better each day as long as i keep up the exercises and the meds.

Going slow for sure. I am 4 weeks after surgery now. Therapy is gruesome but necessary. The pain has been worse than I anticipated. Sleeping was near impossible up till this week. Hard to get comfortable and moving positions was painful. But I do feel better this week finally. Walking without a cane or walker. Still a good bit of swelling in the knee. Each week should get a bit better. I was warned it will take a year before I can walk without noticing the knee replacement.
And I had thought of doing my other knee 12 weeks after this surgery. That plan has changed. The other knee needs replaced but I can deal with it a bit longer while I move through dealing with first knee replacement.
