CAN YOU TOW A 2000 POUND BASS BOAT WITH A BACK WHEEL DRIVE CAR OR TRUCK. ALSO CAN YOU LAUNCH THAT BOAT USEING A TOWN CAR BACK WHEELS DRIVE ONLY.
 
If I'm following you, in most instances yes. But if the ramp is shallow enough you'd need to put the rear wheels in the water you may be in a bit of trouble because of mud and sediment accumulation on the ramp.

I actually used to pull a fair size john-boat with motor gas etc. with a ford escort. It actually did real well with it on the road, but it was tricky getting it and the boat without the front wheels breaking loose and spinning, but it always made it on its own.
 
Yep, I'd agree you could tow with a rear wheel drive car or truck. 6 cyl or bigger engine would be advisable....but I do not think they put 4 cyl's in any rear wheel drive vehicles these days.
 
An F650 "Tonka Truck" would tow that baby nicely.............

Seriously, I think you'll be ok so long as those tires don't make it into the slime and your parking brake is in A1 condition.
 
Very good point on the parking brake Fred. Very important when launching and retrieving a boat. :thumb:
 
doesn't seem that long ago that everything (except a handful of foreign imports) was rear wheel drive and folks managed just fine most of the time! :4_11_9:

Friend of mine welded a hitch receiver under the front bumper of his International 2wd pickup. He backed the boat to the top of the ramp, reversed the truck and pushed it down the ramp. rear wheels stayed out of the water and muck and it was much easier to see what you were doing.

Yup, but remember, those trunks could hold 8 or 9 goodfellas easily. Like an old New Yorker that has what, 10 feet of trunk (or so it seemed).

The front hitch makes a lot of sense. Makes for a good push bar too. Maybe that should be an option on Toyotas..................
