Bilge leak

I have a 2016 Chapparal H20 with a Mercury 4.3 litre engine. Water is coming through the transom and I believe it's because there's a grommet/bushing/whatever it is that's cracked. What I'm looking to find out is, is this a DIY thing a reasonable backyard mechanic can do, or does it need a pro?

Looks like you need a new shift cable boot. Look it up on the net. There are videos out there as to how to do it. If you have the tools you will need to do it and if you feel good about it, go for it. I did mine, it's not that difficult. Watch more then 1 video to get a better picture of what has to be done. It's kind of like getting a second opinion. Good luck, keep us posted and maybe some pictures.
