    Throttle / drive stiffness

Do you have 2 cables coming out of the gear box, or one from the gear box and one up from the outdrive? Is your unit Merc or Volvo? If you can locate where the cable coming up from the outdrive bolts on to the engine, disconnect it from there and try your shifter. If it moves easy then I would...

    Chaparrel Boat Owners

I run the Detroit & St. Clair Rivers, with 23ft Chap ( not counting the swim platform as they do with the boats today) with no issues. The nice thing about running riveres is that you can always find a place to quickly hide, even if it means beaching her for safety. When I run Lake Erie, I watch...

    Throttle Cable/Neutral and Noise

Back in the day when a car would not start you sometimes you had to jiggle the gear shift lever to activate the neutral reverse safety switch when it was going bad. Iggy I think you are right on that end. Without hearing and knowing where the grinding noise is coming from, it could be anything...

    Throttle Cable/Neutral and Noise

I am by no means a mechanic, but that sounds more like a mechanical issue rather than an electrical issue. What solenoid?

    Watching the eclipse?

Had to suspend play because of darkness. Lol Did get to experience it, and got some pictures. We had hazy skies, but no clouds, the viewing was really great. It was kinda cool, when the sun reappeared it looked like someone turned on a big spotlight.

    Horn Inoperable

Love to see that customer service isn't dead and buried yet... Nice to hear those words from the past. Back when my girl was 9 years young on one of hydridic pistons on the trim tab broke at the upper hinge. West Marine sold it as an unit for lots of money. I called Bennett, to see if I could...

Do your horns look like these, if so you can have them. I replaced them with air horns.

Give it a couple of light taps with a hammer, for grins and giggles to see if you can wake it up. Lol

    Horn Inoperable

Iggy's way is the educated and proper way to test electrical situations. I never was any good with meters, so I am a trial and error, hunt and peck mechanic. My 50 year claim to fame was body and paint work in the auto industry. I did not need them then to do my work. But what I have learn in...

    Horn Inoperable

As horns get older and are subjected to weather conditions sometimes the contacts will get stuck. We would tap on the horn with something to see if that was the problem. Hard enough to shake it loose, but not too hard to brake it. Lol

Bypass the switch and hook it direct to the battery through a fuse for safety.

    Hobby vs Passion.

Needs are not expensive, but wants are. is it a need or a want, whichever is the easiest to swallow, I guess.:giggle:

Bilge blower hose replacement 2007 Chap 215SSI

Dan, you do have to remove the lower cabinet to access that end of the hose, that is what I did when I did mine. Also you cannot pull the existing hose, it is locked in foam.

Bilge blower hose replacement 2007 Chap 215SSI

Sometimes you have to take off an interior panel and there will be an access hole behind it, because that vent may have been put on before the interior. Good luck, let us know how you make out.
