Blended oil

Good evening, changing oil in my 99 5.7 mercruiser. Calls for 25-40. Regular or full synthetic.

I use Amsoil in all my cars n trucks, they have a 25-40 synthetic but it’s blended.

Has anyone used this or another brand blended, if so any noticeable oil pressure changes or consumption?

Thnx.

I had an 89 Baja w/ 454. I bought it in 98. Ran regular oil in it until 2003. I switched to Mobil One and it worked great. Lowered my operating temp by 7 degrees. Did not cause any leaks. Didn't use as much oil as dino did during boating season. Less than a quart would need added in late August.
I bought the boat with 350 hours and sold it with over 1700 hours on it in 2014.
Not exactly what you asked for but hope it helps.

FWIW ...Amsoil is known as one of the best. I would not hesitate to use it if I were you. JMHO.

Thnx. I’m a loyal Amsoil user. It’s pricey but their specs are great. I doubt the people I purchased it from cared much. I had to rebuild the carb, now I’m tuning it up, everything is original with 320 hours.

I think in this case I’m may go full synthetic from mercruiser, since the engines are under constant stress/pressure.

Thnx again

I have been using Mobil One for years in my twin 4.3L Volvos. Sold that boat 4 years ago. And my new to me boat with two diesel engines runs just fine with it. All good!

Both products I would use. But Mobil One has a bigger market which lowers the price.
