    Idiots with boats

I replaced mine with what they call the second generation, which is probably like the one you have, being that you are a couple years newer than mine. There are three slots that a ball bearing falls into when you shift from neutral to forward and reverse. When you feel the bind, it is when that...

    Idiots with boats

That is how I looked and felt when my Mercruiser shift and throttle assembly jammed up on me. I needed 2 hands to pull it out of forward, and when I did, it jumped into reverse with excessive throttle, and then I had to hit it with the heel of my hand to get it out of reverse, when I did, then...

    SS Prop Recommendations?

Welcome to the forum, and nice dock, you will get a lot of good use out of it. Props are all about theory, there are so many variables that affect the performance of it. The first thing is, what are you looking for that you don't have in your present prop? If you really want to dial it in, you...

    Help Please.

I very seldom will voice an opinion, I usually just watch or walk away, But this time I think that I should (put my 2 cents in). If any group should help, it is us Chap people. They all cried when their forum went to crap, I too was a member. I jumped ship while the ship was starting to go...

    Circuit breakers

Look and see if there is a part number stamped on them. Probable any marine store can get them. They should not be exclusively for Chaparral.

    330 Signature Head Sink

Somehow and some way they have mounted that sink with external screws or nuts and bolts. Sometimes they will put a molding or something around the cabinet to hide the screws, or one around the sink. Is there a door on the cabinet? If so get a flashlight and look at the inside walls and and...

    Merc I/o Winterize issue

I have an open cooling system on mine. That I use a Rule circulating pump along with my muffs. That until my thermostat opens up it will not push the antifreeze into the engine. Don't know if this sheds any light on your issue or not.

    Winter cover

I have always put mine on stands to keep the weight off the tires for over the winter storage. My package is about 6200 lbs. Don't know if it helps or not with preserving the longevity of the tires or not. I just feel better about it. Glad she fits, inside storage is always the best. Plus you...

SSt is right. My 30 +years of running, my average is mid to high 5's I cruise between 2300 and 2900 RPM depending on sea conditions and number of people. My 4's kick in at 3100. With my 12"x18" tabs I never have to get into them. I cruise between 20 and 23 MPH, again depending on conditions...

How to clean boat's bottom to end the season?

I have an E-Z Loader with rollers and I have always trailered. Back in the late 60's I had a 15 ft Mark Twain with bunks, that I also trailered. So with bottom paint, I never had to wash the bottom. My question is, what if you did not put the trailer in as deep as you normally do to retrieve...
