2023 267 ssx with 350hp b3 has severe bow rise

Before he buys the tabs, make sure you[he] "test drive" it before hand and verify that the drive is trimmed in the down position during acceleration and see what the bow does. My 23 footer does not have tabs and the bow will rise like the Phoenix if it isn't trimmed down during acceleration. I...

    Tie ups vs wake boats?

Fortunately, I don't seem to have this drastic problem. But Lake Erie is rarely smooth especially this year. But with my own boat, I have to be careful creating a large wake. At 10mph, I create a fairly large wake. Even at 6mph its still kinda large. Traveling up the Erie Canal can be a bit...

    Drive Unit Shifting "Firmly"

That's a hell of a way to repair something. Buy a whole new engine. Check your insurance for any coverage.

    Made the jump

Hey……how’s it going? I’m still on my Chap. It’s running better now than ever. I really miss not having my boat in a slip. I don’t have that extra freedom to just sit on it at the slip without going out. But at least I have the boat to go out in. It’s certainly better than not having it.

I was questioning the authenticity as well.

Perhaps you are referring to something like this? Just one boat out of many?

    Finally made it to Toronto

There is another quirk with this boat. While anchored from the bow and if there is a moderate breeze (+/- 10kts or more) the boat will swing as much as 180 degrees. If I’m in shallow water I usually drop a second anchor from the stern water ski eye and that usually takes care of it. But try...

    Boating Oops

I would probably visit this once or twice. But the huge amount of boaters would make me concerned for the safe operation of my own boat. And, how many boaters do you think have a toilet…..onboard?

    Finally made it to Toronto

I am usually anchored off the bow. So when it’s time to depart with the engine already running, I am kneeling on the bow, pull the anchor, get it stable on the deck, then climb over the glass frame into the capt chair and throttle up. Once I’m in the clear of other boats, I throttle back to...

    Finally made it to Toronto

The launch ramp I use is called Lake Promenade WSW of Toronto. It is exactly 100 miles from my home. Actual water mileage might be around 5 miles or so. This is a nice area and a nice ramp. Not chaotic at all. There is also a marina there and I’ve overnighted there several times. But the next...

    Finally made it to Toronto

If the winds and waves are calm, I’ve anchored as close as 10 feet from the beach and about 2 foot depth. But with that comes a potential problem. All the other arriving boaters are now anchored in front of the boat making it very difficult to leave if needed. Once, the winds and waves picked...

    Finally made it to Toronto

While leaving the island that evening, I just couldn’t resist catching a Porter Airlines Dash 8 Q400 arriving overhead. It’s the cherry on top for me.

    Finally made it to Toronto

After 4 years of waiting due to the virus, border closing and other annoying blocks, I trailered into Canada and up to Toronto. My timing was good. No waiting at the border. Minimal road construction and traffic on the QEW which means no traffic jams. And piece of cake launching. What a...

    Drive Unit Shifting "Firmly"

While I can't help you out, my Alpha One is a real clunker! Forward or reverse it clunks into gear. What mine doesn't like is rapid shifting into and out of gear during a tight move into my slip. I've had my drive get stuck in gear and I've had to shut off the engine before driving into the...

    Karma Friday...

Taking this a bit off topic, I'm beginning to despise plastic. A couple of years ago, I bought a Taylor umbrella from West Marine. It was cheaper than a Bimini. The canvas they used is very good but the skeletal frame work is plastic. It broke only after 5 or 6 times of usage. I used some wire...

Replacing a 20amp fuse is about as inexpensive as you can get. Always nice to be back in the water.
