Coast Guard seeks safety advisors

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Coast Guard is seeking applications for membership on the National Boating Safety Advisory Council, according to a notice published in the Federal Register today. NBSAC advises the Coast Guard on matters related to recreational boating safety.

Application forms are due by July 23 and can be found here.

NBSAC normally meets twice each year at a location selected by the Coast Guard. When attending NBSAC meetings, members are provided travel expenses and per diem.

The Coast Guard is looking to fill the following seven positions, which all expire or become vacant in December:

— Two representatives of state officials responsible for state boating safety programs.

— Two representatives of recreational boat and associated equipment manufacturers.

— Three representatives of the general public or national recreational boating organizations.

Each member serves for a term of up to three years and members may serve consecutive terms. For more information, click here.
