The screws should be color coded
Green to green
black to black (OR GOLD/BRASS)
White to silver

Correct

Thanks guys. Understood the air will not work on the lower amperage circuts. I'm just afer the fridg and the battery charger and both are on different circuts, so I need two cords.
The end caps I got were not color coded for the black and white wires. :bonk:
Make sure you got the right ones and not 240Volt 3 wire cord caps.

:pat: I had the 30amp 240 one. Both screws were gold. And it would not fit my plug.
So back to Lowes I go. The 30amp 125 version had plugs just like the 240 one. Won't fit my plug. Drat. One of the blade holes is smaller than the other. My plug has both blades the same size.
I understand some file or cut the blade down ... but I'm trying not to go that route.
Back to the drawing board.

Somewhere along the line, one of them is the wrong one. Either the cord cap you bought/tried or the actual receptacle. But I doubt it would be that.

The L5-30 and the L6-3o "look" the same, but trust me, they're not.

I was able to borrow a couple 'pigtails' (as I now know they are called) from a couple members in my boat club. From using these it appears the ones I eyeballed in Lowes that were 30amp 125v will work just fine.
Thanks for that picture Jerry but it's all greek to me. :hide:
