Default Service Manual 1991 - 1995 Force 70 HP

I have a service manual for a 70 HP Force for the years 1991 through 1995; and

a Mercury/Mariner Multimeter 91-99750 that the service manual constantly refers to.

$10 for the manual and $50 for the meter, plus you pay shipping.

Bob

Hi swampy.
I'm sure Bob will get right back with you, if not let me know and I'll contact him on another forums we both frequent (www.forumsforums.com/3_9/).

Welcome to Net Boat Talk. I'm glad you joined up.
What kind of a boat do you have?
Where bouts do you boat?

Hi guys ,
Thanks for the warm reception. I just picked up a 91 16' bayliner
capri that has a 70hp Force engine that I think is original. She was run hard
and put away wet , a lot . Aside from a bit of butchery to the ( gunnels? ) , the
hull, transom, and floor are sound. ( and can be returned to a pretty descent
appearance I believe )
My friends and I have been exploring the larger lakes in N. Adirondacks. We've been doing it from canoes previously. We tend to travel heavy ( full coolers for 7 day stays, dog, chairs, tent, stove, etc. ), if the weather
goes downhill, we're in trouble .I got into this boat very cheaply ,and I don't
mind a little work . I'm hoping it will suit my needs . Also came w/a galv.
Escort trailer ?
Bob, as for the meter, school me. What will I be needing this for ?

The Adirondacks would be awesome to boat around. I've only seen pictures but they are gorgeous. Good luck with your new to you boat.

The intent of the manual and meter is to make engine diagnosis almost foolproof, and to allow you to easily diagnose a problem, then identify what part may need to be replaced, or what adjustments need to be made.

For example: when you have a problem, you look up the problem in the manual. The manual tells you connect the meter leads to these engine components; to set your meter to certain settings; then observe the meter when the engine is running; or to observe the meter when you engage the starter; or a similar action. Based on what the meter does, you either make adjustments or replace parts; or go to the next item to be tested.

The manual and meter go hand in hand as the manual only refers to this one particular type of meter. The manual shows pictures of the engine where the leads connect and pictures of the way you set the meter up for whatever it is you are testing.

I'm out of town for the weekend, but when I return Sunday, I'll scan a page or two of the manual so you can see how the manual and meter go hand in hand.

Not sure if we can post PDF files here or not, but I have your email address and will send the PDF file to you.

Bob
