To all members and guests.

Welcome to Net Boat Talk Forums.

This is a 18 and over Forum. If you are under 18 please leave now, after-all, we'll probably just bore you to death. :)

For those 18 and older:

This forum has been created for your enjoyment and open discussion. Our motto of "A fun place to talk about anything" does come with some rules/guidelines. In general, Be CIVIL. Please keep civility in mind at all times when you post. Also, be aware, posts selling your wares will be cause for banning. All businesses must have prior approval and pay for advertising on Net Boat Talk Forums. Rates are cheap. PM Doc or use "Contact Us" button at bottom of every page.

Most New Members Are SPAMMERS.
We need to know you have an interest in being a member and interacting with our members by replying to their posts. To that end: No links until you have posted 15 posts. "Yes" and "Cool" posts won't cut it. We don't like spam and will ban without warning if you post a link to soon.

The fine print

1. No flaming, trolling, spamming, intentional drama or posts that may be in violation of law. We practice self restraint and respect for others on this forum. Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not. POSTING THE SAME POST IN MULTIPLE FORUMS IS SPAMMING.

2. Net Boat Talk is an English only Forum. Offensive or repugnant comments regarding beliefs, religion, race, or ethnicity will not be tolerated. Posts in any other language will be removed and poster banned.

3. Content (primarily pictures, but may be text as well) that is considered extremely or too graphic and may cause great discomfort for forum administration and members, and/or does not come with the proper pre-text of its potential graphic nature may be removed.

4. Everyone has 60 minutes to edit or delete any thread they post. After that the post stays in place unless it breaks rule number one. Please do not write what you will later regret and expect us to delete it for you, if you practice respect and civility there will be no reason or need to edit posts after your 60 minute time limit expires. We do not remove posts because you are upset or embarrassed by your words.

5. No member is allowed to have more than a single ID on the forum. No member may create an ID that is so similar to an existing ID that it may become difficult to differentiate or may be misconstrued as the other member.

6. Please understand that material that is covered by a US copyright may not be posted unless the copyright owner grants permission, or the post citing copyrighted material contains a link to the copyrighted source.

7. Usernames and user titles offensive in nature will not be tolerated. Offensive or questionable usernames will be deleted without warning.

8. Links in your sig, or links in your post that promote your blog or business or website are not allowed. Spammers are notorious for this and we currently are working under a policy of ban anyone who breaks this rule. Advertising rates are very reasonable and when you become an NBT advertiser you get extra bennies. PM doc for more info on this.

9. Any action (including inaction) taken by the moderators on a reported post is not subject to debate. Sending multiple private messages to one or more moderators, and requesting action will not be tolerated. If there's a problem with a post, report it and include the reason you are reporting the post. The moderators will discuss the post and take action if warranted.

10. Frivolous reporting of posts will get you banned. Resist the urge to report posts which are not breaking a rule. Obscure references that only you know about are not something the NBT Staff would be concerned with.

11. Reporting multiple posts because you are upset with someone will get YOU banned. Alert the staff of the problem one time only. State your reason(s) in the reported post and move on.

12. Moderators will not address or mediate issues and disputes that go on via member PM's and e-mails. Members who test this notion will be subject to banishment.

13. Members sending Threatening or Harassing PM's or Emails to other members will be banned.

14. NO SPAM. All new members must have 15 posts before they are allowed to post a link.
If you post a link before you have 15 posts you will be banned as a spammer and all your posts will be removed. Links to sell goods or promote other websites are NEVER allowed and can get you banned. If in doubt PM doc. Advertising might be an option for some cases.

15. If you intentionally cause upheaval with members and argue without considering or responding to counter points you may be banned. Our Forums are for discussion and civil debates.

16. Net Boat Talk Forums is NOT your personal BLOG. Forum storage is not free. Forums are for interacting with other members. Give and take.

17. Rude posts can get you banned. No name calling or simply being rude to other members will get you banned. Respect all other members if you want to stay a member in good standing on FF.

18. All posts must be in English. No postings of any other language will be tolerated.

If any of the aforementioned rules are broken, the forum staff will take corrective action. Violation severity will dictate the response by staff that may include a warning, temporary or permanent ban.

About FREE SPEECH:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Net Boat Talk has great respect for The First Amendment. However, since Net Boat Talk is a private forum we request that all members follow all forum rules and guidelines. (the “Terms of Service”, TOS). IOW, this is NOT a Free Speech Forum. We allow civil posts that are respectful of others, but we maintain the right to remove any post that we (the staff of Forums Forums) feel is inappropriate or not in good taste.

Thank you in advance for doing your best to abide by these rules. Feel free to PM a Moderator or Admin if you have questions on any of this.
