broken bolt removal tip

Drill a clearance hole thru the broken piece to relieve any stress.
Depending on the size of the hole, beat in a "Torx" socket or a section of allen wrench.A straight fluted tool has less chance of snapping off versus a "Easy-Out" tool.

You can also heat up the broken bolt/stud with a propane torch, then put a candle to it. The wax seeps in around the threads and when it cools some, it may come out easier, along with using Bt Docturs ideas.
