When removing the harmonic balancer from the crankshaft,YOU MUST PROTECT the threads in theh crankshaft nose. A proper puller will supply a insert to do this or you can simply use the original crankbolt minus the washer threaded in place. The insert or the bolt head will protect the threads and will allow safe removal of the balancer.
To Install:
obtain a longer threaded bolt or threaded stock.insert into crankshaft and use a series of spacers to PULL the balancer into place untill you can use the original bolt to fully seat the balancer.

If installing a new balancer, check the diameter of the bore in the balancer and the crank snout.

Clearance may result in "welding" the balancer to the crank over time. It happens. Seen it myself.
